Heritage River Recreation Program
Providing Backcountry Experiences
The St. Croix International Waterway Commission and its partners strive to preserve, promote and maintain backcountry camp sites along the St, Croix River, Spendic Lake and East Grand Lake in Maine and New Brunswick. These sites are free of charge on a first come first serve basis and are only accessible by boat (lakes) or canoe (river).
The SCIWC is not responsible for lost or damaged items, or injuries sustained while on the river or while using the backcountry campsites.

Provincial Parks
The St. Croix International Waterway Commission and its partners maintain three provincial parks in New Brunswick. These parks are on a reservation system and are associated with a small fee. Reservations are required for these campsites from the first long weekend in May (Victoria Day) through the first long weekend of September (Labour Day).
