The second Sunday in June is Canadian Rivers Day – and the St Croix International Waterway Commission wants you to come out and enjoy our local Canadian Heritage River.

This year, the SCIWC will be at the public boat launch in St. Croix, NB on Saturday to greet you as you begin your journey down the St. Croix. Take part in our paddler’s breakfast on Saturday, June 8, from 7:30 AM to 10 AM. Sip a hot coffee as you speak to our staff about the unique heritage of the St. Croix. It’s a great chance to learn about the names of rapids and campsites, how to leave no trace of your travel and learn how the SCIWC maintains and manages river resources. We’ll also be handing out garbage bags and asking paddlers to clean up along the way. Enter our draw to win one of our Paddler's Prizes! Come on out, whatever the weather, and paddle one of Canada’s finest rivers!

Canadian Rivers Day was established in 2002. It is celebrated on the second Sunday in June, with the purpose of raising awareness of Canada’s amazing river systems. The event promotes public appreciation, responsible use, and conservation of their waterways. For more information about the Canadian Heritage River System program, visit www.chrs.ca.
